The iPhone 15 Pro Max has a stunning display — and an expensive one to fix at a shop. A DIY screen replacement saves you a substantial amount, and it's very achievable in about 45 minutes.
What makes the 15 Pro Max specific
It's a large OLED with slim bezels and a titanium frame, so the screen is bonded with strong adhesive and the Face ID / front-sensor assembly must be transferred carefully to the new screen. For a flagship like this, most people want Pro OLED or the OEM Service Pack for full brightness and True Tone.
The process
- Power off, remove the two bottom screws, and apply heat around the edges.
- Use the suction cup and pry tools to open from the bottom — go slow at the top edge to protect the Face ID flex.
- Disconnect the battery first, then the display connectors.
- Transfer the earpiece, front sensor and Face ID module to the new screen.
- Connect, test Face ID and touch, then seal with fresh adhesive.
Protect Face ID
The Face ID dot-projector is paired to your phone — as long as you transfer the original module without damaging it, Face ID keeps working.
