Google Pixel Screen Replacement: DIY Guide

Google Pixel Screen Replacement: DIY Guide | SelfRepairKit

Cracked your Pixel screen? Google Pixel screens are very replaceable at home with the right kit. This guide covers Pixel 3 through the latest models.

Before you start

Pixel screens are OLED and bonded with strong adhesive, so patience and gentle heat are key. Set aside 45–60 minutes and a clean, well-lit workspace. Back up your phone first.

What's in a Pixel screen kit

A model-matched OLED display, precision screwdrivers, plastic pry tools, a suction cup, adhesive, and a QR-linked video guide.

The process in brief

  1. Power off and apply heat around the screen edges to soften the adhesive.
  2. Use a suction cup and thin pry tool to open — Pixels open from the front.
  3. Disconnect the battery first, then the display connectors.
  4. Transfer any brackets to the new screen, connect it, and test before sealing.
  5. Apply fresh adhesive and press firmly around all edges.

A note on the fingerprint sensor

Newer Pixels use an in-display fingerprint sensor — choose an OLED or OEM tier that supports it, and you may need to re-register your fingerprint after the repair.
